My Favorite Aesthetic
Note Method!

Do you ever open your notebook, look at a blank page, and feel a little bit...

uninspired? We’ve all been there! Sometimes, studying feels like such a chore, especially when our

notes are just a messy jumble of words. But what if I told you that your notes could be a form of self-care? Since I started focusing on my studies and building my projects,

I realized that I learn so much better when my notes actually look pretty.

It’s not just about being fancy it’s about creating a visual map that my

brain finds easy and enjoyable to revisit. Today, I’m sharing my favorite aesthetic note-taking method that keeps me organized, motivated, and excited to study!

1. Choose Your "Signature" Palette

The secret to any aesthetic note is a consistent color palette.

I like to stick to two or three colors that make me feel calm. For me, it’s always those soft pastel pinks, creamy whites, and maybe a touch of lavender or mint. When you use the same colors consistently, your brain starts to recognize them as "cues." For example,

I always use my light pink highlighter for main headings and my soft blue pen for important definitions.

By the time you’re studying for an exam, you don't even have to read the whole page—your brain already knows

exactly what's important just by the color!

2. The "Box-and-Bullet" Layout

I’m a huge fan of keeping things clean. My favorite layout is what I call the "Box-and-Bullet" method. I draw a soft, rounded-corner box at the top of the page for the title,

and then I use bullet points for all my information. If a section is really important, I’ll draw a little "sticker-style" border around it using a fine-liner pen.

It’s so simple, but it breaks up the page and makes it look like a little journal entry rather

a boring textbook page. Using whitespace is key, too! Don’t feel like you have to cram every inch of the page with words. Let your notes "breathe"it looks

so much more professional and keeps you from feeling overwhelmed.

3. Incorporate Tiny Doodles & Icons

Notes don’t have to be just text! I love adding tiny, simple doodles to the margins.

A little cloud, a flower, or a tiny star can make a page feel so much more mine. If I’m studying something complex, I’ll draw a little icon next to the hard parts.

It helps me remember things visually. Plus, it makes the process of writing the notes feel more like a creative project.

If you aren't great at drawing, don't worry! You can use cute aesthetic stickers or even simple

symbols like hearts, arrows, and sparkles. It’s all about adding that little bit of "you" to the page.

4. Use "Readable" Fonts and Spacing

If you’re doing digital notes (which I know many of us are!), the font you choose matters so much.

I always go for a clean, rounded sans-serif font. It’s soft on the eyes and looks super modern. Whether you write by hand or type, make sure you use big, bold headings.

If your main title is clear, you can find exactly what you need in seconds. I like to leave plenty of space between paragraphs, too.

When your notes are cluttered, your mind feels cluttered, but when they’re airy and spacious, you’ll find that you actually

enjoy reading them again later.

5. Add a "Quick Summary" Section

At the bottom of every page, I always leave a small space for a "Quick Summary."

This is where I write 3–5 bullet points that capture the most important things from the whole page. It’s like writing a "TL;DR" (Too Long; Didn't Read) for your own notes!

This is a total life-saver when you’re cramming for a test or just trying to remember what you studied last week. Having that tiny

summary at the bottom makes it so easy to review your progress without having to re-read every single line.

6. Keep It Kind to Yourself

The most important rule? Your notes don’t have to be perfect. Sometimes, they’ll be messy, and that’s okay! If you have a busy day, it’s better to have messy notes than no notes

at all. Don't let the pressure of "aesthetic perfection" stop you from learning.

you make a mistake, cover it with a piece of washi tape or a cute sticker. It turns a "mistake" into a design feature! Your notebook

is a space for you to grow, not a space for you to judge yourself. Why This Method Works When you treat your notes like art,

you’re telling your brain that the information you’re learning is valuable.

It changes your mood, it boosts your focus, and it makes "study time" feel like a special, cozy ritual. Try this out for your next study session and see how it feels.

And remember, the best method is the one that makes you feel happy and productive. Keep creating, keep learning, and keep making things beautiful, bestie!
